The spread of COVID-19 will have a disproportionate effect on low-income children and families. The impact on many students will go far beyond disruptions to their education. Food insecurity, lack of access to medical care, financial gaps, and limited access to technology needed for online learning are just some of the threats many students face.

But there is something you can do now to help. Your gift today will help us respond to the evolving needs of our students and communities.

Our Commitment during School Closures:

During this time of hardship for many families, it is critical that we come together as a community to support those most impacted by COVID-19. We are committed to continuing to serve families at Communities In Schools Sites through these closures:

  • Dessie Evans Elementary
  • Firgrove Elementary
  • Karshner Elementary
  • Pope Elementary
  • Stewart Elementary
  • Sunrise Elementary
  • Woodland Elementary

If you do not see your school listed here, we recommend contacting the administrators at your school to see what resources are available. Or, see a list of community resources here.

Commitment of Support. How we are supporting students and families during school closures:
Weekly Check-Ins with students and families via phone or email
Access to food and basic needs: Providing weekend food and basic needs to Case Managed students.
Community Connector: Helping families find and navigate resources
Emergency fund: Ensuring families continue to have access to basic needs.
