DESCRIPTION:Every year in March we have our Annual Friendraiser Breakfast and Auction where we recognize members of the community through the awarding of an Educator\, Volunteer\, and Student of the year in addition to serving breakfast and hosting a live auction and raffle with proceeds going to support our programs and services in our schools.\nLast year we had almost 400 guests join us including city and county officials\, as well as the majority of Puyallup School District Administrators. We had 35 sponsors in addition to our Presenting Sponsor. This year\, We are excited to announce that we have the Washington State Fair Foundation as our Presenting Sponsor.\nNew this year\, we will be awarding a Community Partner of the Year. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce that we will be partnering with Fred Meyer again this year to pack bags full of food items for our Weekend Backpack Program. \nA group of volunteer will be packing these bags on October 19th. The bags will then be put out for customers to purchase for donation to CIS Puyallup. We then distribute them to the students that are serviced by the Weekend Backpack program. \nBags will be available for purchase through Thanksgiving or when they are sold out.

DESCRIPTION:Love and Logic Parenting Classes began. These classes are part of our parent engagement services and are a cooperative effort of the Puyallup School District\, MultiCare Behavioral Health\, and Communities In Schools of Puyallup and meets at Sunrise Elementary every Monday evening from Sept. 26 through October 24th. They focus on reducing power struggles and increasing children’s problem solving and decision making skills. DESCRIPTION:Communities In Schools of Puyallup’s first Fundraising Golf Tournament will be held on September 28\, 2013 from 8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.at Lipoma Firs Golf Course. We are currently looking for businesses to get involved as hole sponsors and are looking for individual and team registrations. The cost is $85.00 per person or $320.00 for a team of four. Epic Donuts will be providing donuts in the morning and lunch is included as well. Come have fun while helping us raise funds to support important programs and services to Puyallup’s students. DESCRIPTION:Communities In Schools of Puyallup will be distributing free books at our display in the Washington State Fair’s Education Pavilion on September 11\, 2013 from 10:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. and September 14\, 2013 from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. Come learn more about what we do to empower Puyallup’s students in a fun and lively environment. We are always looking to make new friends and learn more about what we can do to improve the education for all students in the Puyallup School District. \nWe are also looking for volunteers to help the staff at the tables in the Education Pavilion as well as to assist in directing traffic to the Sparks Stadium Parking Lot. Proceeds from parking will go directly to support the valuable programs we provide the students and community of Puyallup! We will be staffing the table from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on Wednesday\, September 11\, and from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. on Saturday\, September 14. DESCRIPTION:This summer marks the beginning of Communities In Schools of Puyallup’s Annual School Supply and Backpack Drive. From August 5 through August 23\, school supply drop-off boxes will be available in numerous locations throughout the City of Puyallup.
