As part of our expanded partnership with the Puyallup School District, our Good Samaritan Readers Program now include Family Nights, which aim to engage parents of elementary students in promoting literacy in the home.
At Family Night, school District staff lead a discussion about the reading curriculum, evaluation standards, and provide information on how parents can teach their child in the home, while Communities In Schools of Puyallup provides food and childcare for the attending families.
Family Nights are held twice a year, typically from 5-7 p.m.
Additionally, we offer free parenting classes in partnership with MultiCare Good Samaritan Family Support Center designed to increase healthy behaviors and family engagement.
