Comprehensive Services In Schools

What sets Communities In Schools apart are the trusting relationships that are formed between students and Site Coordinators. Research is now backing up what we have all known—a caring and competent adult in a young person’s life can be the factor that propels them to grow into their full potential. It is these relationships that take a service from being just a service to a way of saying “I see your unending potential and want you to have the supports to reach that”.

At Communities In Schools of Puyallup, we provide both academic and non-academic services so that all students have an opportunity to reach their full potential. Our team of Site Coordinators provide academic, attendance, behavior, and basic needs supports to students by working in schools every day. By partnering with the community, these resources are available to students within the school building.

Every child has tremendous potential. We help students unlock their abilities and talents, giving them a brighter future.

Our evidence based model of providing Integrated Student Supports allows us to provide individualized supports to students, positioning them to be successful in school and beyond.  This comprehensive approach has been proven effective to empower students to experience academic success.

Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. In order to do this, we believe that we must align our services to contribute to an equitable learning environment.

Children and youth deserve a caring community that empowers them to achieve their goals in the classroom and beyond. In order to do so, racism and other inequalities in our educational system and society must be acknowledged and addressed. The Communities In Schools of Washington network exists to build on student strengths and overcome systemic barriers through advocacy, partnerships and individualized social-emotional supports.

In Puyallup, we are working to acknowledge these barriers and addressing them through our model of Integrated Student Supports, so that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
