Food
Local food resources are highlighted here, for a detailed list please reference the PDF at the bottom of this page.
- Christ Episcopal Church of Puyallup – Sack lunches to go every Wednesday (June-August) from 11am-1pm. Persons without a permanent mail address can have their mail sent to the church and pick it up weekly. Laundry packets (with laundromat gift card), all day bus passes, basic toiletries, and socks are given out as needed.
- Edgewood Summer Youth Packs – Every Tuesday 11AM-12PM. Edgewood City Hall 2224 104th Ave. East Edgewood, WA. Youth must be present.
- Nourish Mobile Food Pantry – every Thursday 4:30-6:30 PM Pilgrim Lutheran Church (South-end of parking lot) 10510 136th St E, Puyallup, WA 98374 (Nearest bus-stop 136th and Meridian)
- Free Lunches in Tacoma Parks– When school’s out, parks are in! The Summer Meal Program provides free lunch to all youth age 18 and younger, Monday-Friday. In addition, games, crafts and other activities are led by staff. Lunch is served from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Free lunch is available to all youth 18 years of age and younger at the locations listed on website.
- Free Lunches in Sumner-Bonney Lake– The District is offering free hot lunch for all children 18 years and younger throughout the summer at Daffodil Valley Elementary. The lunches must be enjoyed inside the school building.
- SUN Bucks Washington– Summer EBT food card available for students who qualify.
- Angel One Foundation – Mobile food bank at the Meridian Habitat Park available every Friday from 3 PM-5 PM
- Nourish Pierce County – Mobile food banks operating throughout Pierce County, including one in downtown Puyallup. You can find the closest one to you here.
- Puyallup Food Bank – Stationary food bank providing items such as fresh produce and household items via appointment only.
- Metro Parks Summer Playground and Lunch Program – Free lunch for youth 18 and under Monday – Friday from 12:30p – 1:30p. Activities are led by staff at six of the twelve available sites in Tacoma.
- Mountain View Community Center – Free community dinner every Thursday from 5p – 6:30p
- All Saints Parish – All Saints Community Services provides several programs for food support including, a food delivery program (within boundaries), and a senior farmer’s market. Prospective families must complete an intake.
- Salvation Army Puyallup Food Pantry– No appointment needed. Open Monday-Thursday, 9:30AM-1PM.
Housing/Utilities
- Puget Sound Energy – Works with customers to provide financial support options such as payment plans
- EAP (Energy Assistance Program) – Pays heating directly to utility companies for eligible applicants. Online applications closed until October 1st, 2024.
- All Saints Parish – Will provide up to $500 in rental assistance and up to $200 for utilities assistance w/o referral.
- Coffee Oasis – Underage youth shelter in Tacoma providing housing, case management services, and basic needs provisions on a first come, first served basis
Medical
- Community Health Care – Healthcare provisions on a sliding scale based on family size and income
- Care Net – Reproductive health services at no cost
Unemployment
- Valeo Vocation – Provides full-time employment and housing opportunities to eligible unhoused individuals
- Worksource Pierce – Access to employment toolkits, hiring events, and case management for residents of Pierce County
