Fall is officially in the air, which means Thanksgiving is right around the corner. For some of us, that evokes feelings of excitement– memories of sitting around a table and sharing a meal with the ones we love. For others of us, this can be a stressful time–desiring to provide those memories for our families, but being unsure about taking on the additional financial burden.

This is why we launched Operation Turkey last year. Puyallup is known for its generosity, and this is a way for us to ease the burdens of some of our neighbors. You can purchase either a Turkey Meal Kit with all of the fixings or just a main course and dessert.

When you purchase one of these kits, Communities In Schools of Puyallup goes out and buys ingredients to supply to a family at Dessie Evans, Firgrove, Karshner, Pope, Stewart, Sunrise, or Woodland Elementary. On November 22nd, we will be having a Operation Turkey Packing event where you can volunteer to come assemble baskets for families to take home.
