Eligibility

We have received CARES Act Funds through the Puyallup City Council to provide emergency relief grants for residential housing assistance.

Through this funding, Communities In Schools will be providing rental or mortgage relief for one month (up to $1,500) to eligible families. The eligibility for this funding includes (but is not limited to):

This criteria is established by the CARES funding, not by Communities In Schools of Puyallup.

If you would like to apply for this funding, you can do so here: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=3mHsgPvyEE-_Ff_XmYCFdK_xFaJJVqxGqXgtLPkXamdUNlhQVEtKTzAyOFo4UzdZU1VYUlJVT01WNC4u Filling out this survey does not guarantee support.

If your application is found to be eligible, we will follow up to gather more information about where to send payment and provide a secure link to verify income and unemployment. Payment will be sent directly to landlord or mortgage lender.

Please note, that there is a limit to this funding. We will not be able to provide funding to every family that applies.

The Process:

  1. Fill out Eligibility Survey listed above. Responses are monitored during business hours Monday – Friday.
  2. If you meet the eligibility requirements outlined through the CARES funding:
    1. Communities In Schools of Puyallup will contact your landlord or lender to verify
      • Their business
      • Your residency
      • The amount that is currently owed
    2. Communities In Schools will verify that you have not accessed this funding though a different organization.
    3. You will receive a secure link to verify your income and loss of income due to COVID-19 (in most cases, your last paystub and a current unemployment benefit)
  3. Once this information is verified, we will send you a contract to sign.
  4. Once the contract is signed, payment will be issued directly to your landlord or lender.

*Please note, that we will contact you at any point in the process if more information is required for your application.
